Testimonials

Rug Dots are wonderful! I have an inside dog who goes at full speed if you say "let's go outside" and is always crunching the rugs at the doors as well as sliding head first into the door...I tried Rug Dots and it is THE ANSWER, they keep the rug in place with just two dots on each rug. I had enough to do both front and back doors..great price and truly a wonderful solution...Thank you Rug Dots!

Boy, Am I glad I found Rug Dots! I was using a thin pad under the entry rug and they don't last long. Rug Dots last forever and work much better.
Barbara Ketner, Salisbury, N.C.

Thanks for introducing me to Rug Dots. It was the perfect solution for my smaller area rugs: no more slipping, no more pads showing and easier to replace rugs with rug dots after moving them for cleaning. Thanks again for the tip!

Traditional, Contemporary, Transitional, Tribal and Specialty; so many choices. Let’s learn all about them…

TRADITIONAL – Traditional area rugs are typically modern day representations of old European and Asian designs with Oriental or Persian motifs. Traditional designs can be geometric, using and all over simple pattern with lineal components. They can be pictorial illustrating elements from nature or life. Floral patterns are common and are considered more formal. Most floral are framed with a border and recognized as more Persian than Oriental.

Modern-day traditional designs use color pallets that match today's color fashions and also use Oriental and Persian design motifs using natural fibers and or side weaving technologies that create an antique washed appearance.

CONTEMPORARY - The opposite end of the design spectrum from Traditional you will find the Contemporary rugs which use asymmetrical, architectural or free-form designs. Contemporary designs are characterized by bold use of colors, stark contrast and often geometrical shapes.

Modern is a sub-classification of this genre which includes Art Deco. These designs usually have an architectural feel to them using geometric elements and primary colors. Modern designs tend to bold, assertive and make a strong statement with the decor. On the other hand, Retro designs go back to styles popular in the 60's and 70's, usually a free-form concept with any flow to the design.

TRANSITIONAL – Transitional designs are a blend of contemporary with traditional and are often considered more casual. Transitional is the broadest classification for customers looking for the elegance of Traditional with less formality. Transitional designs are characterized by the use of open spaces with a sparse use of design components that are sometimes traditional and other times contemporary. You will often find a border in transitional rugs hinting at a more traditional element that would otherwise be a contemporary design. Floral and leaf patterns are often used in this design.

TRIBAL – Tribal rugs are probably the easiest classification of area rugs to identify. They are characterized by design elements specific to a culture or ethnic group, often using earth tones of color such as gold, yellow, brown or red. These elements are brought together in very exacting and structured designs for your interpretation. Tribal rugs are typically used in decors with a specific theme helping tie accessories of that theme together.

SPECIALTY – Occasionally you run across a rug design that doesn’t quite fit any of the other classifications. They have their own uniqueness in pattern, material or texture that sets them apart. No matter the difference, these are commonly referred as specialty rugs. Examples include flat woven or braided rugs that rarely have a pattern but rely on their unique texture to add character. Other rugs may use non-standard materials such as bamboo or leather. Specialty rugs can work well on top of wall-to-wall carpeting to provide an interesting contrast and add depth and character to the décor. The texture variation serves to add separation from the carpeting.
